Balancing Yoga Poses & Creative Flow
Level: Intermediate
Props: Suggested 2 yoga blocks and a yoga strap. It is always a good idea to have them near.
This class is centered and inspired around balance, equanimity and exploring harmony of body and mind. The focus is on alignment, strength, and 'Drishti' attention. Keep in mind that balancing asanas/postures can be intense, frustrating and challenging, specially if you are new to it. However, if we do not practice our balance we will never improve. Good balance can help us tremendously as we age, it can also prevent injury. So, do not let a little bit of 'wobble and shake' deter you from balancing standing poses; if at any point during a balance pose your muscles or your standing leg starts to fire up. Allow for it to bring a smile to your face because it is letting you know that your are building up strength and resiliency; and that it's a great sign! Move through the sequence and postures mindfully. Listen to your body and remain connected to your breath. You can do this... one posture at a time. This is a 60 + xtra few minutes class, feel free to break it down in blocks of 20 minutes if you need to. Rest at any point and make sure you are hydrated. I've also added some creative vinyasa flow to add to the fun. I LOVE this class! - I sincerely hope you enjoy it too. Move at your own pace and at your own rhythm. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any comments or questions related to this class and other classes on this website. Have a wonderful practice!
Namaste,
